Ask anyone from Buffalo where they’re from and they won’t say “New York.” They’ll say the 716.
That area code means something here. It’s shorthand for the people, the neighborhoods, the Sunday tailgates, and the way a stranger will help push your car out of a snowbank without a second thought. It’s why I named my business 716 Realty Group, and it’s why I get up every morning glad to do this work.
I’m Theresa Lundquist, and I’ve spent years helping families buy and sell homes across Western New York.
What Buffalo taught me about real estate
Real estate here isn’t like real estate anywhere else.
Our homes have character. Century-old doubles with twin porches. Brick colonials in North Buffalo. Farmhouses in the Southtowns. New builds spreading out through Amherst and Clarence. Every one of them comes with a story, and usually a few quirks.
I’ve learned to love the quirks. Knob-and-tube wiring. Original hardwood hiding under three layers of carpet. A furnace older than the buyer. None of it scares me, because I’ve seen it before and I know exactly who to call.
The houses are only half of it
Buffalo is a city where neighbors still know each other’s names.
When I help a young couple buy their first home on the West Side, or help a family who’ve been in Orchard Park for forty years move on to the next chapter, I’m not closing a transaction. I’m helping shape a block, a street, a community I actually live in.

If a house is overpriced, I’ll say so. If your offer needs to be stronger to compete, I’ll show you the comparable sales that prove it. My clients don’t get a sales pitch. They get a straight answer and a plan.
That matters more than it sounds. Most of the expensive mistakes I see in Western New York real estate come from someone being told what they wanted to hear six months earlier.
